马克思和恩格斯以辩证唯物主义和历史唯物主义的立场、观点和方法，考察19世纪40年代中国革命与欧洲革命的关联，提出了“两极相联”理论“。两极相联”理论从世界历史的视角审视引发中国社会变革的外部因素，开辟了研究中国政治经济演变对西方文明作用机制的新范式，预测了中国社会变革对殖民地半殖民地国家民族解放运动的独特价值，具有鲜明的理论突破性及创新性。透视“两极相联”理论的当代价值，应坚持独立自主与对外开放相统一，在顺应时代潮流的基础上全面深化改革、积极推动构建人类命运共同体，并从中挖掘其对推进中国式现代化的价值意蕴。

Marx and Engels used the position,viewpoint and method of dialectical materialism and historical materialism to examine the connection between the Chinese and European revolutions in the 1840s, and put forward the theory of "Bipolar Connection" theory. The theory of "Bipolar Connection" examines the external factors that triggered China's social changes from the standpoint of world history, opens up a new perspective to study the mechanism of China's political and economic evolution on the role of the Western civilization, and predicts the unique value of China's social changes for the national liberation movements of the colonial and semicolonial countries, which is distinctive in its theoretical breakthroughs and innovations. Exploring the contemporary value of the theory of "Bipolar Connection", we can find its value implication for promoting Chinese modernization in the new era, in terms of adhering to the unity of independence and opening up,deepening the reform comprehensively on the basis of conforming to the trend of the times and actively promoting the construction of a community of human destiny.
